WHO IS BABYKINGCLOTHING
BabyKingClothing is a vibrant, culturally-rooted clothing line founded by Bronx native and mother of two, Shana Jones. Deeply inspired by her grandmother, Thelma Jones, and her mother, Brenda Jones—both celebrated stylists who worked with numerous celebrities from the 1960's through the late 1990's, at the renowned Bloomingdale’s in NYC—Shana developed a passion for fashion at a young age.
After becoming a mother, Shana was disheartened by the lack of stylish, culturally representative clothing options for children in her community. She noticed that melanin-rich children were only visibly celebrated during Black History Month or Juneteenth. This sparked a mission in her heart: to create representation for Black and Brown children every day of the year—365 days, 24/7. In 2017, Shana and her son Jeremiah launched BabyKingClothing LLC, turning a vision of cultural pride into a thriving family business. Shana not only designs bold, meaningful pieces but also taught her son the art and business of fashion, building legacy through creativity and purpose. Since its launch, Shana has mentored 32 paid youth ambassadors, teaching them the values of ownership, cultural pride, and self-knowledge—ensuring they not only wear the brand but live the mission.
